In Fall 2017, the Department of Education hosted an onsite visit from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and received full accreditation through Spring 2024. The Department of Education, as well as the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences’ M.S.Ed., School Counseling program, have been nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 1972. NCATE is now known as CAEP.
